Down2PDF

1. How Down2PDF Works

Down2PDF is a client-side application. This means all document processing happens entirely within your web browser on your own device. When you:

• Type or paste Markdown text
• Upload a CSV or Excel file
• Click "Download PDF"

All of these actions are processed locally on your computer. The conversion from Markdown to PDF happens using JavaScript libraries running in your browser. Your content is never transmitted to any server.

2. What Data We Collect

3. File Storage Policy

We do not store any files. Because all processing happens in your browser:

• Your Markdown text exists only in your browser's memory while you're using the page
• Uploaded CSV/Excel files are read directly by your browser, not uploaded anywhere
• Generated PDFs are created locally and downloaded directly to your device
• When you close the browser tab, all data is cleared from memory

4. Third-Party Services

Down2PDF uses the following third-party services:

Google AdSense: We display advertisements to support the free operation of this service. Google AdSense may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

CDN-hosted libraries: We load open-source JavaScript libraries from CDNs (Content Delivery Networks) like cdnjs and jsDelivr. These CDNs may log access for performance monitoring, but they don't have access to your document content.

5. Cookies

Down2PDF itself does not set any cookies. However, third-party services we use may set cookies:

• Advertising cookies: Google AdSense may set cookies for ad personalization
• CDN cookies: CDN providers may set performance-related cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not affect the core functionality of Down2PDF.

6. Data Security

Since your data never leaves your device, it is protected by:

• Your device's own security measures
• Your browser's sandbox security model
• HTTPS encryption for the website itself (protecting the code, not your data)

There is no server-side data to protect because no server-side data exists.

7. Children's Privacy

Down2PDF does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. Since we don't collect personal information from anyone, this includes children. The service is available for use by anyone who can access a web browser.

8. International Users

Down2PDF can be used from anywhere in the world. Because your data never leaves your device, there are no international data transfers to consider. Your documents stay on your computer, regardless of where you or our servers are located.

9. Your Rights

Because we don't collect or store your personal data, traditional data subject rights (access, deletion, portability) don't apply in the usual sense. However:

• Access: Your data is already on your device—you have complete access
• Deletion: Close your browser tab; all data is immediately cleared
• Portability: Your files are already in standard formats on your device

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage. Our fundamental commitment—that your files never leave your device—will not change.

11. Legal Basis (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area, our legal basis for any minimal data processing (basic website analytics) is legitimate interest in maintaining and improving our service. For advertising through Google AdSense, the legal basis is consent (managed through cookie preferences).
